Illinois, it’s time to give back.
United Way is excited to be a part of the #ILGiveCommunity! #ILGive (pronounced “I’ll Give”) is a 24-hour day of giving across the state of Illinois, organized by ForeFront, a statewide membership association for nonprofits, grant makers, public agencies, advisors, and sector allies (ilgive.com). Designed to get Illinois residents involved in their local communities and non-profit organizations, #ILGive partners with numerous organizations to allow people to get involved in causes that matter to them. United Way is excited to be a part of this movement to get Illinois residents involved in the work we do!
At United Way our mission is to tackle key issues surrounding education. Our goal is to help children reach key milestones in their academic journey to help them be successful in their futures and as potential leaders within our community. We work in Lake County to help bridge achievement gaps and ensure all students, regardless of income-level reach these milestones. You can help us make a difference in students’ lives by being a part of this incredible day of giving!
#ILGive is set to begin on Tuesday May 30th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. CST. Set your clocks because this event lasts only until 6:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday May 31st, 2017.
You can change a life for a child:
- For $10 you can buy two books for a student to take home and build a personal library.
- For $25 you can provide a full school years’ worth of supplies to an elementary classroom.
- For $50 you can fill a preschooler’s home with a years’ worth of learning materials.
- For $100 you can help to fund this summer’s Kindergarten Countdown Camps, which is a program created by United Way to prepare Kindergarten students for their upcoming school year by making sure they meet key milestones like learning to write their names, recognizing colors and shapes and reciting the alphabet.
