It’s Time to Give Back to Lake County!
Update: Thanks to our generous supporters, we raised over $900 for our education programming in Lake County!
It’s time to give back to Lake County!
Today is the big day. It’s the 24-hour day of giving as part of #ILGive. We are excited to be a part of the #ILGive community, which is composed of non-profit organizations across Illinois that are working to improve our own communities. #ILGive brings together many different people and encourages Illinoisans to get involved in local organizations.
At United Way Lake County, our mission is to tackle key issues surrounding education. Our goal is to help children reach key milestones in their academic journey to help them be successful in their futures and as potential leaders within our community. We work in Lake County to help bridge achievement gaps and ensure all students, regardless of income-level, reach these milestones. You can help us make a difference in students’ lives by being a part of today’s incredible day of giving!
#ILGive begins today, Tuesday May 30th, 2017 at 6:00pm CST. Set your clocks because this event lasts only until 6:00pm CST tomorrow, Wednesday May 31st, 2017.
You can change a life for a child:
- For $10 you can buy two books for a student to take home and build a personal library.
- For $25 you can provide a full school years’ worth of supplies to an elementary classroom.
- For $50 you can fill a preschooler’s home with a years’ worth of learning materials.
- For $100 you can help to fund this summer’s Kindergarten Countdown Camps, which is a program created by United Way to prepare Kindergarten students for their upcoming school year by making sure they meet key milestones like learning to write their names, recognizing colors and shapes and reciting the alphabet.
