Staff Spotlight: Stephen Poyser
We are thrilled to introduce Stephen Poyser, our Donor Relations Account Manager. Keep reading to learn more about his role, what he likes to do in his free time, and how he connects to the programs we offer at United Way of Lake County (UWLC)!
When did you join UWLC?
I started at United Way of Lake County on June 18, 2024.
Tell us about your title and role.
My title is Donor Relations Account Manager. I partner with organizations on their employee giving campaigns and educate the community on United Way Lake County’s programs.
What made you want to be a part of this organization?
I grew up in Lake County and my kids are growing up here. Lake County has a very special place in my heart. I love that I get an opportunity to be a part of an organization whose mission and programs are geared toward helping kids and community members in a county I cherish so much!
Which of UWLC’s programs do you connect to most and why?
I believe in all the programs we offer here at United Way Lake County. However, there are two that resonate with me the most. First—Success By 6. The kids are the future. Accepting the mission that no kid be left behind and is ready to take on the world at an early age is fantastic! Second—211. Our community needs help, and 211 is there to assist in bridging the gap.
What is your favorite part of your job here?
My favorite part of my role is networking. I love meeting new people and getting to know them.
When you are not at work, what kinds of things do you do with your time?
I love spending time with my family, kids and friends. I have a passion for sports. As a youth sports coach, I spend a lot of time on the field or court. I also enjoy working out and eating good food. What’s life without good food?
